On a weekend trip to Maine I stood near the end of the Pemaquid Point peninsula and felt the spray of water on my face from 100 feet away. Waves crashed against the jutting rock. Bang! Before me huge flat rocks pointed into the Atlantic. Blue tidal pools interrupted the grey rock formations and in the distance the horizon line had a pinkish tone. I felt compelled to respond with paint and canvas. Thus began a series of paintings featuring the water, sky, ocean, and shore of the coast.
